"Sparky"

My name is Mike Phillips, I live in Colorado Springs, CO and this is the story of "Sparky". Sparky is the name for my electric vehicle that I converted from a S10 pickup in 2006. It was quite a challenge and rewarding experience. Especially now that gas is over $3.00 a gallon (Spring, 2007) and Sparky costs me around a buck to recharge everyday. I have many people to thank for their help on this project. Many thanks to my wife, Tina, who encouraged me and was there to help with the tear down and re-assembly. My son, Chris, who spent many a weekend with me doing the "dirty" work. My great friend, Dean, who helped me lift the engine and helped me figure out the DC-DC converter issue.
